Elizabeth Pocock

Student Coordinator, Minor Guardianship Clinic

James E. Rogers College of Law

epocock@gmail.com

Elizabeth “Liz” Pocock is a rising 2L and volunteered

with the VLP throughout her first year of law school.

The recipient of the prestigious President’s

Academic Scholarship for the California State

University of Long Beach, Liz studied Human

Development with a minor in Anthropology which

was completed during her study abroad in

Melbourne, Australia. The Human Development major embraces the areas of

Sociology, Psychology, Biology, and Anthropology over the course of four years

which explains Liz’s acute awareness of the needs of the clients who come to

the VLP for advice and counsel.

Liz is also highly active within the U of A law school itself.  As President of the

Law Women’s Association, Liz manages the resources needed to create a web

of support and a place to exchange ideas for the benefit of women.  Liz helps

organize brown-bag luncheons on legal issues related to women while always

keeping in mind the mission to improve the status of women in the professional

world.  Additionally, Liz is the secretary for the International Law Society and

also participates in the LEAD Mentoring program.

Originally from Needles, California on the Colorado River, Liz is a devoted

volleyball player and snowboarder.  On her vacations, if she isn’t diving into the

hot sand before a turquoise ocean to reach a volleyball mid-air, she is most

likely traveling around Iceland, sailing in Long Beach, swimming in the river

back home or just playing volleyball inside!  After graduation, Liz hopes to

practice international law one day.

Jessica Sizemore

Student Coordinator, Domestic Relations Clinic

James E. Rogers College of Law

jessica.sizemore@gmail.com

Jessica is an advancing second year law student

at the U of A and participated in the Domestic

Relations Clinic this past year.  Originally from

Northridge, California, Jessica received a

Bachelors of Science in finance from San

Diego State University in 2006.  Before attending

law school Jessica worked as a paralegal in San

Diego gaining experience within the field of law.  She also volunteered as a camp

counselor for the North Valley YMCA, something that she has continued to do

as a law student.  Since moving to Tucson, Jessica has enjoyed her time at the

U of A’s College of Law and has kept busy!  She is involved with such

organizations as the Law Woman’s Association, the Asian Pacific American

Law Student Association, Wills for Heroes, the Minority Coalition, and also as

a 2L writer for Law Review.  Having always been involved with volunteer work

Jessica felt that the opportunities at VLP provided a chance to “make a

connection to the community here in Tucson while also getting a more hands

on experience than studying law in the classroom. “  When not studying for

school or staying busy with clubs and activities, Jessica likes to relax by

cooking, scrap booking, or watching episodes of House or The Office.  You

may also find her enjoying dinner downtown with friends at Café Poca Cosa

Looking towards the future, Jessica hopes after graduation to work as a

prosecutor with the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

of Wellton, Arizona, about 30 miles east of Yuma, before moving to Tucson to

attend law school at the U of A.  As the VLP’s Student Coordinator and Staff

confidence in their ability to help people.
